TransElectric Engine

Designed to be operated the same as present day internal combustion engines.

What our concept is

At present, the primary force behind the transportation of humans about the world today is with the use of internal combustion engines. The internal combustion engine is used daily in motorized vehicles, nautical vessels, and machinery.

However, this mode of transportation is the main cause of air pollution, and global warming of our environment. With fuel resources rapidly depleting, these type of engines, that are not easily converted to alternative fuel sources, will progressively become more impractical and environmentally unsafe.

Our invention is the creation of an electric engine, with no battery storage banks, that would readily replace the internal combustion engine as the primary source behind motorized transportation. It is designed to be used in place of internal combustion engines by attachment to existing transmissions.

Utilizing basic components consisting of a side shaft engine; a generator; a high torque, high r.p.m. electric drive motor; an acceleration/power demand regulator; and a cooling system; the electric engine, designed to be operated in the same fashion as an internal combustion engine, would dramatically reduce pollution emissions, and while easily convertible to alternative fuel sources, would, using petroleum distilled products of today, reduce fuel consumption, eliminating foreign oil dependency while increasing acceleration rates.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Harnessing the power of mechanics to revolutionize sustainable transportation.

The electric engine is a collective mechanism which is composed of a small unspecified horse power side shaft engine; an electric generator of unspecified production capacity; a high torque, high revolution electric drive motor of unspecified size and diameter; an outer casing based continuous flow coolant system of unspecified dimensions and flow rates; a pulley system; a full pump assembly of unspecified capacity; an acceleration/power demand regulator (not included in this submission).

GENERAL BENEFITS

Environmental

The electric engine would benefit the environment by reducing the amount of exhaust emissions there by reducing air pollution, ozone depletion, atmospheric carbonic build up, and other environmental problems and concerns directly or indirectly caused by or related to internal combustion engine emissions.

Resource depletion

As the world’s dependance on fossil fuels grows, our resources of this carbon-based fuel is depleting rapidly. This source of fuel is limited and finite, and there will come a day when the world’s reserves of oil are gone forever and will have to seek alternative sources of fuel to meet the world’s needs.

The electric engine is readily convertible to alternative sources of fuel such as alcohol or methane, sources which are more environmentally sound and readily replenishable than present sources.

Acceleration rate

A secondary benefit with the use of the electric engine is an increase in acceleration rates. Because the drive motor on the electric engine has a high torque rating, vehicles equipped with this engine will have a substantial increase in their acceleration curves due to higher torque availability found in electric motors of this type.
